in summary.
i am an american-born south african-ish nigerian spatial designer based in brooklyn. my work hinges on the psychology and politics surrounding space-making, covering the breadth of the design process from concept development to implementation. for the last five years i have worked with artists, communities, design firms, creative agencies, and non-profits to create immersive spatial experiences. collaborative, hybrid and global, my practice spans architecture, landscape design, exhibition design, production & set design and experience design with projects across new york, los angeles, baltimore, chicago, london, vienna, ljubljana, lagos, and lungi-town in sierra leone.
projects include production design for GUARDIAN ANGEL, a multisensory film experience commissioned by ica london in 2022; tools for play, a board game taking players through the architectural design process; and a spatial design concept for owen’s park — an empty lot to be converted into a community park in east broadway in baltimore, md.
i am a graduate of the university of pennsylvania where i double majored in international relations & african studies. with this lens i conceive of design as a mechanism for development. through NEW INC i are developing my own spatial design studio that will embed marginalized narratives into the built environment through design and art.
i’ve also had locs since i was six.
