in summary.
i am an american-born south african-ish nigerian spatial designer based in brooklyn. i creatively direct spatial experiences across architecture, landscape design, exhibition design, production & set design and experiential design with projects with projects across new york, los angeles, baltimore, chicago, london, vienna, ljubljana, lagos, and lungi-town in sierra leone. my work hinges on the psychology and politics of space-making to embed marginalized narratives into the built environment.
key projects include production design for GUARDIAN ANGEL, a multisensory film experience commissioned by ica london; tools for play, a board game taking players through the architectural design process; and a spatial design concept for owen’s park — an empty lot to be converted into a community park in east broadway in baltimore, md. more recently, i was the spatial designer for reclamation day: an immersive counter-commemoration to america250 centering black & indigenous perspectives on the country’s history.
i am currently developing my own studio and the project set to launch it, which has been supported by NEW INC as well as powerhouse arts.
i am a graduate of the university of pennsylvania where i double majored in international relations & african studies. with this lens i conceive of design as a mechanism for development.
i’ve also had locs since i was six.
